The Scotch-Brite™ XT Pro cleaning and stripping disc consists of a silicon carbide mineral abrasive incorporated into an open nylon canvas. Our discs effectively remove rust, paint, scale, coatings and glues on all surfaces, without significantly altering the base material.

The Scotch-Brite™ XT Pro cleaning and stripping disc allows you to achieve increased conformability without compromising strength when preparing metal surfaces to remove rust or paint. Our discs are made of a new combination of fibers, resin and silicon carbide mineral abrasive, to form a thick, open web. The elastic nature of the fibers allows these discs to follow the contours of the part with greater precision, and achieve a larger contact area for quick removal. They comply with weld bead irregularities to polish welds without damaging them, and also allow you to access hard-to-reach areas without damaging the support material. The silicon carbide allows a powerful cut to guarantee a neat finish. Burrs, dirt and unwanted contaminants are effectively removed while maintaining the geometry of the part, reducing touch-ups and helping to increase productivity. In addition, gaps in the canvas allow the chips to escape, minimizing the load on the abrasive. To ensure constant cutting throughout the life of the abrasive, the disc reinforcement resin gradually disintegrates with use to reveal new fibers and a very sharp silicon carbide abrasive. The high-strength fiber resists fraying and has good performance on the edges. These discs also provide reduced vibration and sparks, high rated speed, and extended service life.
