The 3M foam abrasive disc™ Trizact™ Hookit™ 443SA is a foam disc designed to remove and fade sanding scratches before using the 3M™ Perfect-It™ polishing system.

Use the 3M foam abrasive disc™ Trizact™ Hookit™ 443SA to remove sanding scratches before repairing body panels with the 3M™ Perfect-It™ polishing system.

Our foam disc blurs the scratches caused by the grinding of the paints before polishing.

Description and use

The 3M Trizact Hookit 8000 abrasive foam disc is a revolutionary structured abrasive for paint finishing operations.

The discs have a pyramidal or triangular block structure, which has multiple layers of fine abrasive minerals.

As the abrasive wears, new, salient and new minerals appear.

This gives you a smooth, even finish and exceptional durability.

Physical properties

Abrasive foam drive with Hookit fastening system available with 150mm and 76mm discs.

Use with a standard soft Hookit support pad.

Use guidelines

Eliminate defects with 260L P1200 to P2000 paper or Wetordry grain 1500/2000 micro fine paper or a similar abrasive.

Remove dust from sanding.

Refine the surface using the Trizact 3000 finish discs. At least 5 passes are required. Wet application.

Use the Trizact 8000 with an orbital sander. A 5 mm orbit is ideal, with a Hookit tray.

Use the product directly on tray when sanding flat areas, and for rounded surfaces, add a flexible interface if necessary.

Use wet, with a water spray only. Do not soak in a bucket of water.

Work with the disc sufficiently, until a white pasty liquid (water-varnish dust mixture) appears as a result of the abrasive action.

Refine previously sanded areas. At least 5 passes will be required, with an overlap of about 50 %. You can fine-tune the finish if scratches are visible.
