Description

High density correction pad for altered varnish

The polishing pad Monkey Line Skinny Pad Heavy Cut Red is a strong density foam buffer for the initial correction step (Grobie Cut) in detailing. Its rigid honeycomb structure makes it possible to work hard polish and surface defects pronounced without loss of abrasive power during the polishing cycle.

Thanks to its reduced thickness of 18 mm (Skinny format), this pad limits the dissipation of the mechanical energy emitted by the orbital or rotary polishers. It ensures increased stability on the bodywork, reduces the risk of guiding jump and allows precise follow-up of the edges and curves of the vehicle.

Technical specifications

  • Product Type: Foam polishing pad (Heavy Cut / Strong Cup)
  • Use: Correction of deep stripes, severe micro-stripes and oxidation
  • Compatibility: Self-gripping tray (Velcro) in diameter 125 mm, orbital or rotary polisher
  • Material: High-density high-density synthetic foam
  • Dimensions: 125 mm Velcro diameter / work surface diameter 135 mm / thickness 18 mm
  • Color: Red
  • Manufacturer Part Number: F.134651

For which user?

This polishing pad is aimed at detailing enthusiasts and professional aesthetic preparators looking for a high yield during the draft phase. It is particularly recommended for the treatment of German or tough varnish requiring a strong mechanical attack closed pad.

On which surfaces use this product?

This polishing buffer is adapted to the correction of painted and varnished surfaces:

  • Automotive body varnish (direct glossy and bilayer)
  • Gelcoat of imbarcation or motorhome (resumption of material and oxidation)
  • Plastics Painted Body (Bumper, Mirror Cases)

Why choose this product?

  • 18 mm refined profile providing better control and direct force transmission
  • Crosslinked foam resistant to thermal stresses and tears
  • Beveled Cutting (125/135 mm) protecting the tray bracket against direct contact with paint
  • High quality Velcro attachment ensuring a centered and secure hold on the board

To achieve a complete bodywork renovation, combine this pad with complementary accessories:

In what cases use this product?

  • Body renovation with large and deep micro-stripes
  • Initial attack on hardcover hard (German groups, ceramic varnishes)
  • Elimination of Water Sanding Marks (WetSanding) from P2000 / P3000 Grain
  • Correction of severe imperfections on boat gelcoat or motorhome

How to use this product for optimal result?

  1. Center the 125 mm pad on the self-gripping plate of the polisher.
  2. Apply 4 to 5 drops of strong cutting compound on the surface of the foam during priming (Priming).
  3. Spread the product at a slow speed on a work area of about 40x40 cm.
  4. Work in crossed pass (vertical and horizontal) at average / high speed by maintaining a moderate and constant pressure.
  5. Immediately wipe polish residues using a clean microfiber to inspect the correction level.
  6. Regularly brush the foam with a PAD brush to evacuate used polish residues.

Professional trick

Clean your pad with compressed air or with a specific brush after each pass. A saturated foam in polish residues loses its power of cutting, heats overly and may create new defects on the varnish.

Error to avoid

Never work on a hot bodywork or exposed directly to the sun, and do not exert excessive pressure on the polisher: the low thickness of 18 mm transmits directly and could generate destructive heating for the varnish.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does this cut pad that is likely to expose the paint underlay?
Because of its strong abrasiveness, this pad removes a measurable layer of varnish. The thickness of paint should be checked beforehand and avoid repeated passages on pronounced edges.

Should we systematically pass a finishing pad after the Heavy Cut pad?
Yes I do. A strong cutting pad generally leaves a slight veil of holograms or micro-marring on the varnish. A second finishing step with a softer pad and a finish polish is needed to restore the clarity and gloss of the paint.

How to wash the pad after use?
Rinse the pad with warm water with a specific cleaner for polishing pads or a mild degreaser. Press it without twisting to evacuate the water, then let it dry in the open air, face foam down.
