Description

3M 33042 Perfect-It Finishing Foam 1 step, Violet, 150 mm


Ideal for use with 3M™ Perfect-It™ Famous Finish

For optimal performance, use a rotational speed between 800 and 1,400 rpm.
A honeycomb foam reduces heating on the surface.
Avoid losses for faster, cleaner results with the foam design that retains the polishing liquid.
Available in Hookit configurations™ 80 mm and 150 mm in diameter.


3M™ Perfect-It™ 1-step purple finishing foams are our best performing foams, ideal for reducing scratches from 3M™ Trizact™ 8000 in one step.
Use in combination with 3M™ Perfect-It™ Famous Finish for optimal results.


Enjoy high polishing performance and fast results using 3M™ Perfect-It purple finishing foams™ 1 step in combination with 3M™ Perfect-It™ Famous Finish. After quickly removing paint imperfections with 3M™ Trizact™ 8000, polish the area with a little purple cap recommended on the foam to achieve a high gloss and durable finish in a single step on most colors. For optimal performance, use a rotational speed between 800 and 1,400 rpm. This process is ideal for retouching freshly applied paint, in order to quickly achieve excellent results.

Using 3M 33042 foam with polishing liquid 33039


► Place a purple foam on a rotating chandelier and put a small amount of 3M finishing liquid™ Perfect-It™ 1 step.
► Apply the product by cross-passes with a rotational speed: 600 to 1400 rpm.
► When polishing, the foam should be kept flat permanently on the surface to avoid jumping. Reduce the pressure towards the end of the polishing step to make cleaning easier.
Note: The more flexible the coating, the lower the temperature and therefore the lower the speed must be.
► If the sanding scratches formed during the first polishing step are still visible once you have checked the surface, repeat the polishing step.
Note: It is important to remove all sanding scratches at this stage, in order to avoid their reappearance at the end of the polishing process.
► Polish the area again to obtain a very glossy finish, without having to add any treatment to the foam.
► Apply the product by cross-passes to the area and the surrounding area, at a rotation speed between 600 and 1400 rpm.
► Keep the polishing pad flat on the surface to ensure a uniform appearance and glossy finish, reducing pressure towards the end of the polishing step.
► Wipe off any excess polish and inspect the surface: most colors are beautiful now.
► For critical colors (very dark or black), remove holograms with 3M polishing liquid™ Perfect-It™ Ultrafina SE and blue polishing foams.
